I've had the good fortune of working with Shannon, 6 hours on Sat, who is so respectful and thoughtful in her approach to organizing your space! But don't think she isn't about getting the job done, because she's no push over, if clean, organzied, and a make sense approach appeals to you then contact her asap (as she gets booked pretty quickly), one very satisfied customer :) View Video Testimony

Living by myself and carrying with me stuff from three moves, it was hard to go through things and organize my place; I′d been living in the same apartment for two years with half of my boxes still unpacked. I didn′t know what to do. I was overwhelmed. I opened the Yellow Pages and saw a new ad for an organizing service by the name of Fresh Perspective. That′s exactly what I needed -a fresh perspective on my life as an organized person! I called Shannon and she came over and assessed what I needed to do. We started in the bedroom. The problem she helped me figure out is that it wasn′t my disorganization; rather it was a problem with going through things and deciding what I really needed to keep. What took me three years to start on; she had me doing it in one afternoon. She pulled all my clothes out, made me decide what I hadn′t worn and we boxed them up, then I took them to donate. It felt like a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders. No more wading through piles of clothes just to find one sweater. We did the same in the kitchen and office. She helped me go through things and decide what needed to be kept and what didn′t. It was that easy. Afterwards I had much more confidence about not only my living space, but also about my ability to keep a neat place. I′d always felt guilty about it and realizing a few simple techniques that she taught me I understood the root of the problem was not me personally but rather my inability to throw things away. I would most definitely recommend Fresh Perspective not only for the great service it provides, but Shannon is also a neat person and is a joy to work with. She made me look forward to a task that I′d been dreading and encouraged me all the way.

I have difficulty asking others for help and admitting that I can′t stay on top of everything as I would like. I finally made the decision to call Shannon and was so relieved to hear and feel her immediate graciousness and encouragement. She really took the time to get to know our family and we worked as a team to find organizing systems that fit each of our personalities and needs. Shannon is so much fun to work with, and her efficiency is amazing. She has been a blessing to our family. You will not regret calling. I know that she will be a blessing to you as well.

Shannon Cowan certainly offered a "fresh perspective" to my life on a number of occasions in 2007 and 2008.In January 2007 she helped me organize my office. In 2008, she helped my husband and I prepare our home to sell. She helped me de-clutter and focus on one room at a time to get outstanding results. For me, Shannon is an accountability person for my "packrat" tendencies. She helps me "get off high center" and make time for these tasks. Since we have made an appointment, and set aside the time, then the work gets accomplished. I recommend her to everybody that is interested in "digging out", and improving their organizational systems. If you are sentimental, busy, interested in many things, then "stuff" piles up. Sometimes we need a guide, a coach to work through the piles that accumulate in our lives. Of course, there is a fee for her professional services, but often you find long-lost items, or duplicate items, which saves you money. Also, due to the systems set up, you can find needed items quickly later on saving you time and frustration. You need not fear, Shannon "meets you where you are" and is experienced, knowledgeable and kind.

The time you spent with me developing an organized schedule has helped me professionally and personally more than any seminar or self-help book. The reason it was so effective was because of you – the shine you gave it was the magic. I love how you taught me that I needn′t account for every second or every "to do" item but rather to block out small chunks of time that aren′t overwhelming, but allow me to consistently succeed. My favorite part, the part that means the most, even to this day, is how you handled my difficulty in leaving the house in the morning. No judgment, no horror, surprise, or telling me we can′t have that. Instead, you worked with the way I am already to simply find what works for me to be more effective and feel happier. Thank you with all my heart for that, for helping me succeed while respecting who I am… You are amazing and I am better for knowing you. Thanks again for helping me when I needed it most.

Last year, the week my husband died I was fighting insomnia and found an advertisement for Fresh Perspective. I had been drowning in piles of sympathy notes and paper work. I had dumped the contents of my closet out on my bed looking for something I couldn′t locate and was sleeping in another room rather than deal with the piles. I felt lost and overwhelmed and had not known where to turn for help. I sent a middle of the night email to Shannon and she answered me the next day. We sat up an appointment and when she came in I felt like I was meeting a long lost friend for the first time. Shannon took me and gently lead me. She helped me prioritize what I needed to do. When I became distracted she gently got me back on task and focused on what we needed to accomplish. When you are grieving, you feel like you are living in a fog. As I became more organized I could find my files quickly to get everything accomplished that I needed to. It also empowered me to get on top of things I had let slide for too long. Before long I was taking on tasks I had put off for months. I don′t feel like I am walking around in circles anymore. It felt like Shannon came in and helped me clear away the cobwebs in my closet and my head. Sometime, all you need is a gentle push in the right direction, to get you moving again.
